Gambling revenue in Pennsylvania amounted to $515.2 million in March, an increase of 11.35% over the same period last year, according to data shared Tuesday by the state’s Gaming Control Board. This is the first month Pennsylvania's monthly revenue exceeds the half-billion mark since legalized gambling began in 2006.
As for revenue per vertical, retail slots took the lion’s share at $225.4 million, up 4.9%, with Parx Casino leading the segment at $35.1 million. Table gaming revenues amounted to $85.8 million statewide, down 8.9% from last year, with Wind Creek Bethlehem leading this segment at $19.9 million (down 8.2%).
iGaming saw a major revenue jump of 25.46% to $148.1 million, with Hollywood Casino at Penn National being the top operator at $62.3 million (up 38.3%). Total sports wagering handle amounted to $723.5 million, almost flat from the prior year, but at the same time, the taxable revenue figure was $50.6 million, 66.59% higher when compared to March 2022. Valley Forge Casino Resort led the segment at $280.7 million in handle and $23.8 million in revenue.

As for other sources of revenue, video gaming terminal revenue for the month was 1.87% lower than in March 2022, at $3.8 million, but fantasy sports revenue saw a slight 0.53% increase to $1.3 million.
March’s increase in revenue follows a continued upward trend that began in January when gambling revenue increased by 18.2% year-over-year. It also builds upon a record-setting 2022 for the Pennsylvania gambling industry, when all forms of gaming amounted to more than $5.2 billion, up from the 2021 total of $4.7 billion.
