SiGMA Americas has confirmed its next event for the LatAm gaming market, to be held in Brazil in 2024. The São Paulo expo and conference will take place at the Transamerica Expo Centre between April 23-26, following the success of the inaugural SiGMA Americas summit, launched in June this year.

Held in association with the Brazil iGaming Summit (BIS), a Brazil-based events company acquired by the SiGMA Group this year, the expo offers "exciting opportunities for key players in the iGaming and emerging tech sectors to tap into SiGMA’s wide-reaching network of affiliates, operators, KOLs, and top government officials, and regulators," according to its organizers. SiGMA will also host 3 additional networking events in Brazil next year, equivalent in style to its "iGatherings."

Organizers pointed out that attendees to SiGMA Americas 2024 can expect two days of conferences, led by KOLs and VIPs. A full, expert-led agenda will bring engaging, quality content through a series of star-studded keynotes, panel discussions, and skill-boosting workshops. Delegates can also expect additional highlights, including a live Startup Pitch competition and an Affiliate-Operator speed dating event.

A curated expo floor will also take center stage at the summit, with the Transamerica Expo Centre described by SiGMA as "one of São Paulo’s best when it comes to venues." Three connected halls will offer an advantageous platform for top-tier exhibitors to display, demo and forge "lasting connections with delegates."

"From a no-expense-spared gala awards and charity auction to an MMA fight night and incredible closing party, there’s plenty to keep attendees entertained," said SiGMA in regard to networking opportunities to be offered by the gathering. "Networking opportunities are front and center at this event, with a calendar of events packed full of treats."

The announcement of a new edition of SiGMA Americas 2024 in Brazil comes as the country advances in its efforts to implement state-wide legislation for gambling. However, there have also been several hindrances and roadblocks, including the rejection of an emergency bill intended to fast-track the country’s sports betting market. Congressional leaders also remain undecided with regard to deciding if sports betting should be regulated on a nationwide or state-specific level.

In a noteworthy development last week, Brazil’s Vice-President, Geraldo Alckmin, held a meeting with Mor Weizer, the CEO of Playtech, SiGMA points out. The meeting was arranged by deputy Felipe Carreras (PSB-PE), who leads the party in the Chamber and actively advocates for the regulation of the gambling sector and sports betting.

During the discussion, Alckmin expressed clear support for the legalization of gambling and sports betting, indicating a potential shift in Brazil’s stance on the matter. The meeting highlighted the promising opportunity for lucrative investments in Brazil, with Playtech demonstrating its endorsement for the regulation of these forms of chance-based entertainment in the country.
