The Dubai iteration of SPiCE International 2023 is currently underway. The second day of the event took place on November 9th and featured robust discussions zeroing in on the entertainment and tourism sectors in the UAE, as well as savvy strategies for entering newly regulated sectors.

Exhibition company Eventus International noted that the Gulf state has the "potential to become a major player on the global stage", with projections suggesting it could outshine Singapore in revenue generation if all goes according to plan.

With this promising future in mind, attendees sought insights from a diverse speaker lineup, gaining a better understanding of industry developments and the escalating importance of the UAE market throughout the day.

Standout panel discussions included a dialogue focusing on 'Strategies for breaking into a newly regulated market.' Guided by the Chairperson of the summit, Dr. Anuraag Guglaani, (Family Business Groups & Wazir Advisors) the panel boasted experts including Angad Singh, Monika Grabics, Pariekshit Maddishetty (Gridlogic), and Vidushpat Singhania. Providing actionable strategies for navigating newly opened markets, the topic resonated with participants.

Angad Singh, Account Director, Idea Spice Design, said: "In the long run, understand the tone of voice and how you operate. The fact is, if you have regulated branding, you know exactly what you can do and what you can't do. With unregulated markets, of course, as a branding agency, it leaves us with a lot of creative room in terms of playing with the brand, which is great for us."

As the introduction of a new regulatory body in the UAE lingered in the minds of attendees, a panel of expert speakers took the stage to address the dos and don'ts of the market. Moderated by Harmen Brenninkmeijer (NYCE International) and featuring RN Dr. Amy Remes, (Kootac) and Rakesh Eligapalli (Primecraft Games), specialists in various fields presented their thoughts on upcoming regulations set to take effect in the coming months.

RN Dr. Amy Remes, CEO of Kootac, said: "Dubai would like to be the forerunner and would like to make everything the best of the best. This is why, in my opinion, it is extremely important to start exactly in Dubai because Dubai has the balls to start with something completely new, extraordinary."

With the prospects of Dubai as the new hub of the Middle East's industry, SPiCE International brought together industry pioneers, fostering connection over the rich content shared on stage.  Networking sessions and a buzzing exhibition floor created an immersive experience for participants and set the scene for Day Three of SPiCE International 2023, closing the day today (Friday).
