WSOP Paradise, the latest addition to the World Series of Poker (WSOP)'s winter series, concluded its inaugural run at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas on December 14, announcing Stanislav Zegal as the first champion of the WSOP Paradise Main Event.
Zegal conquered a competitive field of 3,008 entrants, securing the coveted WSOP Paradise Main Event gold bracelet and an impressive $2 million first-place prize.
The gripping poker action was broadcast live by GGPoker and is scheduled to be featured in upcoming episodes on CBS Sports Network. The Bahamas-based poker festival proved to be a major success, amassing a total prize pool of over $70 million across 15 bracelet events.
The 2023 WSOP calendar shattered all tournament records on its way to awarding more than $400,000,000 in prize pools. The summer was highlighted by the all-time record field of 10,043 entrants in the Main Event won by Daniel Weinman, who earned $12.1 million with his victory.
“There’s not much more that can be said about what a special year 2023 was for the WSOP and the game of poker,” said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker.
“But it’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024. Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”
Following the conclusion of WSOP Paradise, attention now turns to the preparations for the flagship 2024 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The WSOP has officially revealed the dates for its 55th annual summer tournament, with the highlight being the iconic $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, famously recognized by poker enthusiasts as the "Main Event."
The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players can also register directly on Day 2 on either July 7 or July 8.
The full daily event schedule for the 55th annual WSOP will be announced in early 2024. Fan favorites, including the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, will return to the schedule in 2024. Reduced room rates will be available across Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas resorts for the series.
