The Las Vegas' Global Gaming Expo (G2E), presented by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by RX, has been a launch pad for the biggest and best products and ideas in gaming for 23 years.
The 2023 event, which concluded on October 12, drew in more than 25,000 gaming professionals to Las Vegas with exhibitors and attendees representing more than 125 countries, territories, and regions. The 368 exhibitors and participating companies, 128 of which were new, spread across a post-pandemic G2E record 269,000+ square feet of exhibition space. Additionally, the event featured more than 100 education sessions.
In an exclusive interview with Yogonet, Korbi Carrison, Event Vice President of G2E at RX, said next year’s edition will build on the success of this education programming.
What is your assessment of how the gaming sector developed in 2023? What role did the latest G2E edition play for industry stakeholders within this context, and which were its highlights?
G2E 2023 once again showed why the Global Gaming Expo is the must-attend event to explore the future of gaming, providing the launch pad for the biggest and best products and ideas in gaming.
This year, brick-and-mortar gaming remained stronger than ever, with in-person slots and table games on pace for a record revenue year in the U.S. through 10 months of 2023 reporting. This was evident at this year’s expo as well, as operators, media and influencers all lined up to see a variety of new casino product launches that will help define the next year and beyond in gaming.
Looking to G2E 2024, what should the gambling industry expect from next year’s edition? Are there any new plans or announcements you can share with us?
G2E attendees will continue to demonstrate strong interest in all gaming sectors in 2024 and meeting this wide range of demand will be paramount. As always, the most innovative companies in gaming will be showcased in the G2E expo hall.
Another focus will be building on the success of this year’s education programming, which was more popular than ever due to our first-ever call for industry submissions for content and speakers.
While we have plenty more in store for next year, you’ll have to look out for announcements in the new year as we approach G2E 2024, October 7-10 in Las Vegas.
Which trends, verticals, and technologies do you expect to dominate the conversation next year, and how will G2E reflect them in its proposition?
As we saw at G2E 2023, electronic gaming machines and electronic table games will be a major draw for attendees—as will innovations in digital payment technologies for in-person and online casino experiences.
Advances in the iGaming sector will also be prominent at G2E 2024. While iGaming continues to evolve, so do emerging technologies designed to support the vertical, representing an expansion in the overall iGaming ecosystem that will be represented at G2E.
Finally, both in the expo hall and in education programming, we expect to see the enduring relevance of sports betting in the broader gaming landscape as the sector continues to mature in the U.S.
