The SBC Summit Rio 2024 concluded on Thursday, March 7, with the participation of more than 4,000 executives, experts, authorities, and representatives of the gaming industry. The last day of conferences in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) was once again marked by the strong presence of debates related to the regulation of the sector in Brazil.

One of the highlights was the participation of Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of the Rio de Janeiro State Lotteries (Loterj), in a panel with Ludovico Calvi, honorary president of the United Lotteries for Integrity in Sports (ULIS), and Iuri Castro, responsible for project and people management at Caixa Econômica Federal (Federal Savings Bank).

"Let's build the best for the gaming and lottery industry with dialogue, with interactivity. That's what we are doing here in Rio de Janeiro, which is the blue ocean for lottery games. This is the place for companies to invest", Cançado told Yogonet moments before the conference.

He also highlighted the presence of the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, at the dinner promoted by SBC on the night of March 6, at Casa Saulo Restaurant, at the Museum of Tomorrow. According to him, Castro's attendance at the event was further proof of the importance that the State attaches to gaming.

In addition to regulation, the day included lectures on integrity, municipal lotteries, localized content, and artificial intelligence, among other topics. Participants were also able to interact and network at the various operator and supplier booths spread over two floors of the Windsor Convention & Expo Centre.

SBC Rio 2025 Summit

The SBC has already confirmed when the 2025 edition will be held: February 25, 26 and 27. This choice is motivated by two main factors. The first is the desire to establish an exclusive event in Brazil right at the beginning of the year.

The second is related to Carnival: the tradeshow will end just as the country's biggest party begins, offering visitors a unique experience in Rio de Janeiro.

Cristian Robalino

Cristian Robalino, Vice President of Marketing for the Americas at CBS, commented that the 2024 edition exceeded expectations and that next year's event will be even bigger.

"We expected, for example, 3,000 people to come and already more than 4,000 are here. It's an event with a lot of interest and that means that, for us, next year will be much bigger. We have just announced that the event is moving to Riocentro, a much bigger venue that will give us space for 400 exhibitors and sponsors. We also expect more than 10,000 people to attend," he told Yogonet in an interview.

The SBC Summit Rio 2025 website is already live, with information that there will be 250 speakers (a significant increase over this year's 100) and that the program will include the "Affiliate Leaders Summit" to cater to the thousands of affiliates and marketing participants.
