Catawba Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, is poised for expansion this summer as it prepares to introduce 12 live table games, complementing its existing array of offerings, which currently include 1,000 slot machines, electronic table games, a retail sportsbook, and a restaurant.
Catawba Two Kings Casino currently employs 280 people and anticipates adding 120 new positions – both dealers and supervisors – with the table games expansion. An exact go-live date for the table games will be announced later.
The table games selection includes favorites such as craps, roulette, mini-baccarat, blackjack, Mississippi stud poker, and three-card poker. Spearheaded by the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority, the expansion involves the addition of prefabricated modular structures to accommodate the new offerings, with construction initiated in February and slated to continue through the spring.
“We’re very excited to be adding live table games to expand our gaming and entertainment offerings at Catawba Two Kings Casino,” Catawba Nation Chief Brian Harris said, as per The Shelby Star. “By adding live table games, we are giving our loyal patrons something many have asked for and also anticipate drawing Charlotte residents and visitors to the region who have not yet been to the casino.”
In tandem with the introduction of table games, Catawba Two Kings Casino is launching a free dealer school on March 25, running through June 14, to train prospective dealers and supervisors. Recruitment efforts will extend across the region, including Atlantic City and other key casino markets nationwide, facilitated by Delaware North, a consulting partner to the Catawba Nation.
“While we want to attract experienced dealers to our team and are offering bonuses and relocation packages for those who qualify and are hired, it’s also a top objective to add local residents who may be new to gaming but are seeking a good-paying job. Our free dealer school will prepare people for new careers in the casino industry,” said Kathy George, president of the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority.
The expansion marks a pivotal moment for the temporary casino, as plans for a permanent resort take shape, including recent acquisitions of surrounding land and completion of vital infrastructure projects, such as the Dixon School Road Bridge expansion and sewer line installations.
Moreover, Catawba Two Kings Casino is poised to venture into mobile sports betting in North Carolina, with technology partner selection nearing completion. The onsite sportsbook, already a draw for visitors as one of only three retail sportsbooks in the state and the closest to Charlotte, continues to draw visitors.
