Following the first day of welcoming guests and two intense days of exhibiting and networking, BiS SiGMA Americas 2024 came to an end at the Transamerica Expo Centre in São Paulo.

This year's edition reflected the growth of the burgeoning new Brazilian market, now in the process of regulation, and reached a new level in the world of gambling industry events in the region, becoming a new cornerstone in Latin America.

The presence of more than 10,000 people and 250 exhibitors from all over the globe showed that the gaming world is aware of what is happening in the country and wants to take advantage of the new market. The panels and debates with executives and experts of the sector showed great concern that the bases of legalization and regulation contain the best practices of the sector.

The agenda of the last day promoted reflections on current issues that will affect the future of the industry, such as technological innovation, the influence of regulation on the domestic market, artificial intelligence, best practices, payment methods, cryptocurrencies, and gamification, among others.

Speaking to Yogonet, Alessandro Valente, Co-Founder of the event and Super Affiliates, assured that "the event demonstrates once again that it is necessary to bring together the people who make up this industry and the government so that the discussion is increasingly in favor of building a serious, solid and sustainable industry."

"We have surpassed everything we imagined with this edition, and today we have brought together the private sector, politicians from all walks of life, and many people interested in learning and making this a positive industry. We have here a timely and essential environment for all of this to happen in the best possible way and to have an ever-stronger industry in the years to come," he added.

In an interview granted to BandNews during the event, Valente also spoke about the expectation of legalization of land-based casinos in Brazil, with Bill 2.234/22 currently under discussion in the Senate's Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission (CCJ).

"The message we have to work on is: when will casinos, resorts, and integrated casinos also be regulated and legalized? There is still a long way to go in the gaming industry, but we have taken a very important step," he said in an excerpt reproduced by the BNLData website.

He also stressed that "if you don't start with the first step, you will never get there. So we have already taken the first step and we have achieved it since 2013. Now we have achieved the first goal.

"The second goal will hopefully not take so many years, because the barrier has already been broken and now it's just a matter of common sense and goodwill on the part of the government so that we can have physical casinos open again here in Brazil."

Another point raised by Valente in the interview with BandNews during BiS SiGMA Americas was the issue of technology in the online gaming sector. "Several companies are already exporting technology produced here in Brazil, but we are also importing, bringing in companies that [previously] only supplied big international brands. Through an event like this, they can showcase everything they have to our market," he said.

The official closing was full of adrenaline with the Centurion FC 19 MMA event, with an agenda full of duels, whose highlight was the confrontation between Yuri Neles and Fabricio Azevedo.
