iGaming content provider Play'n GO released its first-ever Sustainability Report on Tuesday, covering the past year. The document outlines the company's sustainability strategy and progress in 2023, as well as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments for the ongoing year.

The 2023 Sustainability Report showcases Play'n GO's dedication to fostering a sustainable industry and planet, the company said. Key initiatives include responsible gambling strategies, with a focus on the Bonus Buy study, climate commitments, and enhanced inclusion and diversity efforts.

The report also offers insights into Play'n GO's Digital First culture, which gives the company's employees the freedom "to choose where and how they work."

"Play'n GO has long made its commitment to sustainability and ESG very clear, and the release of our first-ever Sustainability Report is evidence of those words being put into action," said Vanessa Arenram, Director of CSR at Play'n GO. "We’re thrilled to finally share this report today, and it serves as a celebration of the dedication and progress made by our global team."

The report outlines several milestones and goals:

Safer Gambling: Play'n GO launched safer gambling training for all employees and achieved the GamCare Safer Gambling Gold Standard. The goal for 2024 is for 90% of employees to pass the safer gambling training and maintain the Gold Standard.

Digital First Journey: In 2023, Play'n GO continued its Digital First journey, empowering employees with the flexibility and freedom to determine when and where to deliver their best work. With the upcoming opening of GO Hubs in Sweden and Malta, all geographical locations will transition to Digital First by 2024.

Climate Commitment: Play'n GO's Sweden headquarters is certified to be powered by 100% renewable energy. The company has contributed to the forestation of 8,460 hectares and permanent carbon removal. The goal for 2024 is to reduce year-over-year scope 2 emissions by 80% and improve tracking of scope 3 emissions, supporting sustainable innovation within the company and across the value chain.

Arenram added: "From our commitment to player safety and collaborating with regulators to influence the development of sustainable regulation, to our Climate Pledge and how we are investing in our people and partnerships, we mean it when we say that the only viable future is a sustainable one.

"While much of the report has already been actioned, we still have work to do, and this report holds us to account as we continue leading the industry to a sustainable future of iGaming."
