The German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball-Bund, or DFB) has signed a deal with sports betting firm Tipico, naming the brand its new official partner of the DFB Pokal (German Cup) for men and women. As part of the agreement, which runs until June 30, 2026, Tipico will be allowed to advertise using the logos of the two cup competitions.
According to the terms of the partnership, the Tipico logo will also be visible during matches in the DFB Pokal for men and women, including on advertising boards and digital channels of the competitions and the DFB.
Dr. Holger Blask, Chairman of the Management Board of DFB GmbH and Co. KG, said: “We welcome Tipico as a new partner for the DFB Cup competitions for women and men. We are looking forward to new engagement in the context of the two traditional competitions with their finals in Cologne and Berlin. In partnership, we also want to continue and intensify our extensive efforts to promote responsible gaming.”
Kajetan Strini-Brown, Director of Marketing Acquisition at Tipico, said: “With the DFB on our side, we are now playing in the same team as co-partner of the DFB Pokal and strengthening our role as the largest sports betting provider in German football. The DFB Pokal, known for its dramatic matches and surprising twists and turns, is also a perfect fit for Tipico, as we always strive to offer our customers an emotional, exciting, and safe sports betting experience.”
Tipico, a Malta-based operator, is a global supplier of casino games and sports betting. In addition to various gaming licenses from the Malta Gaming Authority, Tipico also possesses a German sports betting concession from the Darmstadt Regional Council.
In recent times, the DBF has also renewed a partnership with Volkswagen as a premium partner and training kit sponsor for German national teams, extending the agreement until July 31, 2028. Additionally, the sporting body has also secured a sponsorship deal with Klarna, naming the brand as the official partner of the Germany Men’s National Team.
In 2022, the DFB signed a significant long-term agreement with IMG Arena, which enables the company to distribute DFB Pokal content through the firm’s sportsbook operators, increasing the competition’s reach and engagement.
