Graton Resort and Casino in California will unveil its new five-story parking structure on Tuesday, August 12th. The garage adds 1,600 spots and 32 EV charging stations to the resort. Using next-generation wayfinding, the garage’s new digital signage system displays real-time parking space availability on every level, according to an announcement.
The new construction features several sustainable elements, highlighted by a 1-megawatt photovoltaic solar panel system that completely offsets the building’s electrical energy usage.
Other eco-friendly features include LED light fixtures; water-conscious plants and landscaping; and low-level VOC (volatile organic compound) concrete, paints, and adhesives.
Designed with elevated floor heights, the garage interior offers a welcoming atmosphere with open, airy, and well-lit spaces, according to the casino. Moreover, the parking lot includes extra-wide spots with double lines.
With the opening of the new garage, the casino’s valet services now feature zero-emission, 100% electric shuttles, "providing guests with a safe and comfortable ride for guests to and from the facility."
The new parking structure marks the first completed project in a multi-year expansion that began last summer. The upcoming phase will involve extending the casino to the east of the current facility, adding a new poker room, a high-limit gaming area, a sports bar, and a rooftop restaurant.
The project architects are Walter P. Moore & Associates and Bergman Walls & Associates. The project developer is ECL Development, and the general contractor is SMC Contracting.
