Billionaire philanthropist and Republican megadonor Miriam Adelson has donated $95 million to the Preserve America PAC, a pro-Donald Trump political action committee, during the third quarter. This substantial contribution brings her total donations to the PAC to $100 million for the year, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.
The $95 million was disbursed in four installments over the months of July, August, and September. The Preserve America PAC has reportedly allocated $113 million toward presidential campaign advertisements, underscoring the importance of Adelson's financial backing in a competitive election landscape.
In addition to her contributions to the PAC, Adelson also donated $1 million to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s super PAC, which is expected to bolster support for Trump in the crucial battleground state of Georgia.
With an estimated net worth of $34.4 billion, Adelson ranks among the wealthiest women globally. She has maintained her family's legacy of significant contributions to Republican candidates following the death of her husband, Sheldon Adelson, who was a prominent supporter of Trump in past elections.
Her donations are particularly crucial as Trump faces stiff competition from Vice President Kamala Harris, whose campaign has raised $1 billion this year. The political landscape remains tight, with both candidates vying for voter support.
Adelson's influence extends beyond financial contributions. She is known for her strong support of pro-Israel policies and has been vocal about her positions regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Her contribution was the largest in an array of new big-money disclosures on Tuesday, eclipsing the $75 million that Elon Musk recently gave to a pro-Trump PAC.
While some see her as more deliberate in her decision-making since her husband's passing, it is clear that Adelson has not strayed from the political path they charted together.
In 2019, she even suggested that a “Book of Trump” be added to the Bible, highlighting her fervent support for the former president.
