In a speech within the framework of the SiGMA Europe event, the President of Malta, H.E Myriam Spiteri Debono, commemorated the tenth anniversary of SiGMA Group by praising the organization’s evolution from a small Maltese startup into a global brand in the fields of gaming, emerging tech, digital health, and affiliate marketing.
Reflecting on SiGMA’s growth, the President noted how the company has transformed from a local venture into an international enterprise. Hosting seven summits annually, the President noted that SiGMA draws 80,000 industry delegates and over 1,200 exhibitors, driving industry innovation and collaboration.
She further highlighted that, at its core, the company is "committed to making a tangible difference in communities around the world," a value that is exemplified by the SiGMA Foundation.
The SiGMA Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, was praised for its dedication to social responsibility and global outreach. The foundation’s initiatives raise essential funds to address pressing social issues and uplift vulnerable communities across multiple continents.
“SiGMA’s impact extends far beyond the bounds of business and innovation – it is committed to making a difference in the lives of people and communities around the world," the President said.
Following her keynote, SiGMA founder Eman Pulis presented the President with a cheque donating €10,000 ($10,548) to the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).
Pulis expressed his gratitude, saying: “The work that H.E has been doing for the MCCF inspires us to the extent that today we feel there is no SiGMA without the SiGMA Foundation.
"Wherever we go you will always feel our charitable arm going full throttle – and for this, we would like to make a small gesture of appreciation to the MCCF from the SiGMA Group. We thank you for the support and look forward to seeing this collaboration grow from strength to strength in the coming years.”
The President highlighted the pivotal role that the MCCF plays in Malta, describing the Fund’s efforts to provide specialized medical assistance to those requiring treatment abroad, as well as offering social aid to individuals facing hardship locally.
Robert Abela, Prime Minister of Malta, also visited the SiGMA Europe event. Abela was welcomed by event organizers, including SiGMA Group founder Eman Pulis, CEO Emily Micallef, and CFO Clive Terribile.
The event, which took place at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub (MMH), concluded on November 14th. Abela's SiGMA Europe visit underscores Malta’s active role in the iGaming and digital technology sectors and reflects his administration's interest in supporting the industry as part of Malta's economy, said the show's organizers.
