The Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) of Buenos Aires announced the call for bids for the operation of seven casinos in the province of Buenos Aires: Necochea, Miramar, Tandil, Mar de Ajo, Sierra de la Ventana, Sasso, and Hermitage (the latter two in Mar del Plata). Bidding envelopes are set to be opened on July 8.
The President of the IPLyC, Gonzalo Atanasof, signed the resolution that promotes the bidding for the operation of slot machines in the seven gaming halls located in different points of the province and which, up to now, were operating with an extension in their license.
"This is a fundamental step for the modernization and competitiveness of the Casinos of the Province, based on a commitment made jointly with the Province", the official stated.

"We not only seek to guarantee the continuity of the workers and improve their working conditions, but also investments that help to capitalize on the tourist and entertainment potential of each venue," he said.
The announcement comes a few weeks after Atanasof announced in an interview with Yogonet that the bidding documents had already been approved and that they were about to publish the bidding process to regularize the situation of these seven casinos in Buenos Aires.
According to the IPLyC, this measure aims at making the bidders invest in building improvements, modernize the rooms and the slot machines offered, and promote competitive entertainment spaces for tourism with gastronomic offers and shows throughout the year.
The operation period is foreseen for 20 years, with the possibility of extending it for one more year. The opening of envelopes is scheduled for July 8 at the Lottery and Casino Institute's headquarters. The details of the schedule and the bidding conditions will be announced in the upcoming days.
