7MBR reauthorized to operate sports betting and iGaming in Brazil by SPA after regulatory compliance

The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) has reauthorized 7MBR Ltda to operate sports betting and online gaming in Brazil, following an 11-day suspension due to missing technical documentation. The decision, formalized in Ordinance No. 844 published on Tuesday (April 22), grants the company permission to operate under the brands Cbet, Verbet, and Fanbit through December 31, 2029.

The license reinstatement follows the company's compliance with all regulatory requirements, including submission of technical certifications for its betting systems, remote gaming servers, and system integration, documents that must be issued by SPA-accredited certifying entities. These were initially absent when the SPA suspended 7MBR’s license on April 11.

The regulatory action was part of a broader oversight initiative that also impacted Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas and TQJ-Par. Pixbet, along with its associated brands Flabet and Bet da Sorte, has since recovered its definitive license.

Meanwhile, TQJ-Par, which counts Grupo Sílvio Santos among its shareholders, has yet to secure final authorization for its platforms Baú Bingo, Tele Sena Bet, and Bet do Milhão but has stated that it remains on track to begin operations in the second half of the year.

In a public statement issued during its suspension, 7MBR apologized to users for the disruption, citing “administrative and bureaucratic challenges” as the cause. The company reassured customers that these issues were being addressed to align fully with Brazil’s updated gambling laws.

Following Tuesday’s decision, 7MBR confirmed that operations would resume immediately. “Everything has been definitively resolved and our platform will be fully online and our games will be available again,” the company said in a statement.

The reauthorization falls under the framework of Brazil’s fixed-odds lottery legislation, regulated by Laws No. 13,756/2018 and 14,790/2023, and reinforced by Decree No. 11,907 issued in January 2024. The SPA, under the Ministry of Finance, is tasked with ensuring all licensed operators meet stringent technical and operational standards.

Ordinance No. 844 states that the license covers sports-themed betting across virtual platforms and applies specifically to the corporate entity 7MBR Ltda, registered under CNPJ number 56.442.917/0001-09. The order came into effect on the date of its publication.
