Signs4U has developed a divider to fit between slots to provide more secure personal space for players, anticipating the demand for social distancing in casinos due to the COVID-19 pandemic once the gaming venues begin to reopen.
The Netherlands-based company, one of the global leaders in casino signage and multimedia systems, has presented Play Shield, a product that fits between any make of slot machine and other devices, such as multiplayer automatic table games or roulettes and even a redemption terminal, as reported by InterGame.
The one-size-fits-all design of the divider can be delivered untreated or sprayed in a powder coating for any colour the operator chooses.
Signs4U CEO Martin Spies commented: “It is highly probable that after the Covid-19 pandemic is over, players will become much more conscious of their personal space when enjoying their gaming. Our Play Shield will give them the security they need.”
He said that if customers wished to play on several machines at once, it remained a simple matter of moving the flexible divider between the slots.
“There is a shortage of plexiglass at the moment, so we are unable to guarantee when deliveries of ordered units can be made. It will be strictly on the basis of first come, first served,” Spies added.
