Gaming and sports betting technology company Elys Game Technology is boosting its presence in the Washington, D.C. sports betting market through the opening of a third sportsbook venue in the US capital, the Grand Central Sportsbook on H Street.
Located at 625D H Street NE in Washington, D.C., this new venture builds on the success of the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook and the Cloakroom Gentlemen's Club Over Under Sportsbook Lounge, already operational in the capital.
Ever since the debut of small-scale sports betting at the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook in October 2021, Elys has been actively seeking opportunities to expand its Class B betting program. The company believes the small-business retail model, which has seen success in Europe, is gaining traction in the United States. As the sports betting landscape continues to evolve, and more states embrace the concept of small-scale sports betting, Elys says it is "strategically" positioned to capitalize on this market.
“The small business model presents a compelling opportunity as it offers customers convenient access to betting on their favorite sports while enjoying a night out at their local social establishment," said Michele Ciavarella, Executive Chairman of Elys Game Technology.

“We are buoyed by industry trends in the United States and believe that as more states adopt this model, we can rapidly expand our customer base with minimal upfront costs," he added.
The Grand Central Sportsbook on H Street is expected to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2023. The commencement of sports betting operations at the location is contingent upon the final approval of the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG).
