The inaugural Pitch! networking event at Regulating the Game in London, which took place on September 25-29, has been described by its organizers as a "marvelous evening" packed with animated talks about leading RegTech solutions, innovative interventions for gambling harm, and leading thinking about certification and compliance.
Paul Newson, Director of Regulating the Game, described Pitch! as a networking event "designed to provoke innovation, inspire compliance, and excite the industry towards outstanding compliance and regulatory outcomes." According to the Director, the event generated "a lot of pre-conference interest with heaps of inquiries from organizations wanting to talk at the event."
Newson is a former President and Patron of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and a former Trustee of the NSW Responsible Gambling Fund. He was responsible for public policy and regulation of liquor, gambling, and racing in NSW as Deputy Secretary in the NSW Department of Industry until mid-2019.
