Las Vegas: Station Casinos to mark Durango Casino and Resort's grand opening with fireworks display

Station Casinos has announced that it will celebrate the grand opening of its new Durango Casino and Resort in the southwest Las Vegas Valley by organizing a fireworks display. According to a press release, the company’s latest resort will be inaugurated on Tuesday, December 5, with the doors opening to the public at 10:00 AM.

Durango will present a display of Fireworks By Grucci at 9:00 PM on Tuesday, as the “spectacular lights up the sky to commemorate the grand opening.” The show will be open to the public. 

Originally set for November 20, the opening date for the new resort was pushed back to December 5 in the last few weeks. However, the company says that the employees at Durango Casino and Resort will be compensated for salaries and tips for the period in-between the original launch date and the revised opening.

“We continue to prepare for the scheduled opening of our Durango Resort, which we have now moved to December 5th, to ensure a first-class opening of the property,” Station Casinos revealed in a November 7th announcement about the date change.

As per the press statement, guests will be able to play over 2,300 slot machines, over 60 table games, two high-limit rooms, and an STN Sportsbook. 

Four of the casino's restaurants will also be open, including Mijo Modern Mexican, Summer House, The George Sportsmen's Lounge, and Nicco's Prime Meats and Fresh Fish. Casino officials add that the new 'East Your Heart Out' food hall will also be open at the venue.

Earlier in October, the property had announced that it was accepting reservations for luxury rooms and suites. The property houses 27 suites in total and seven types of suites. These include two executive suites, 10 salon suites, 10 parlor suites, two terrace suites with a patio, three city suites, a vista suite with a patio, and a veranda suite with a patio.
