Betting operator Betsson has inked a significant deal with the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF), becoming the naming sponsor for the Greek Cup from 2023 to 2026. The company says this move is part of a long-term commitment to Greek sports by Betsson, which has been actively involved in the country since 2011 and was among the first companies to secure a license under the new framework established in 2021.

Ronni Hartvig, Chief Commercial Officer of Betsson Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the sponsorship deal, stating: “We are incredibly proud to support the Greek Cup, further solidifying our long-term investment and commitment to Greek sports.

"I’ve had the privilege to witness the commendable and inspiring efforts of the Betsson Greece team. Their strategic approach seamlessly blends sports support with a series of initiatives aimed at actively engaging not only fan bases but also the broader society. This holistic approach has resonated well throughout the region.”

The Hellenic Football Federation President, Panagiotis Mpaltakos, stated: “We welcome Betsson as the naming sponsor of the Hellenic Cup for the next three years. We are pleased to have reached this agreement, through which HFF gains a strong partner in its ongoing effort to enhance the Cup.

"Consequently, we create a strong partnership that will bring benefits to the organization and the tournament. This reflects our commitment to the continuous improvement of HFF events, and in this case, the Cup, which is an institution with a very long history and prestige in which all teams have the opportunity to distinguish themselves.”

Betsson's involvement in Greek sports extends beyond football, as earlier this year, the company took on the title of team name sponsor for the Greek basketball team AEK BC, changing the team's name to AEK BETSSON BC. The expansion into new markets and sports has played a significant role in Betsson Group's Q3 record results, reaching a revenue of €237.6 million ($250.4 million).
