Idaho's Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel its 2023 "Large Business of the Year" as part of its annual Business & Nonprofit Partner Awards.
The award "recognizes the dedication, innovation, leadership, community service, achievements, and entrepreneurial spirit displayed by businesses in our community." Chamber member volunteers evaluated nominees and chose winners in six categories.
"It’s wonderfully gratifying to be recognized for our work, service, and contribution to the region and community members," said Laura Penney, CEO, of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel. "It’s imperative that we simultaneously operate a business valued by our guests, with giving back to the community and bettering the lives of our people."
According to the company, philanthropy is "a crucial component" for the casino, which donated more than $550,000 to various local and regional non-profit organizations in 2023.
Beneficiaries included: All Heart Infusion, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 149, Big Table, Blessings & Beyond, Camp Kesem at Whitworth University, Circle of Hope, Coeur d’Alene Tribal Domestic Violence Awareness, Communities in Schools, Elevations, The Excel Foundation, Family Promise of the Palouse, Girl Scouts of America, Kootenai Health Breast Cancer Awareness, Meals on Wheels, New Developed Nations, Project ID, Safe Start, Safety Net, Tom’s Turkey Drive, Tools 2 Schools, and Valley Warriors Against Cancer.
