Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) announced that it has been approved as an Independent Test Lab by the North Carolina State Lottery Commission. Under the approval, GLI is authorized to evaluate gaming equipment, software, and processes for compliance with state law and commission rules.

The new milestone adds to GLI's global portfolio of accreditations and jurisdictions where it is operational, with the company recognized as an authorized test lab for 65 lotteries and 707 total jurisdictions worldwide.

We are thrilled to be approved to test and certify for the North Carolina State Lottery Commission. Our testing and consultation services are unmatched because we combine innovation with compliance and a global reach and presence that gives our clients a world of insight,” said GLI Vice President of Global Lottery Solutions Angela Wong.

GLI offers lotteries and each of its clients’ full compliance services that consist of four overarching categories: regulatory compliance, technical compliance, end-to-end testing, and full lifecycle compliance.

GLI recently expanded its accreditations by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard for its laboratories in Noida, India, and Moncton, Canada.

Since 1989, GLI has certified nearly 2 million items and has tested equipment for 707 jurisdictions resulting in over 5.3 million approved gaming components. GLI has a global network of laboratory locations across six continents, with U.S. and international accreditations for compliance with ISO/IEC standards for technical competence in the gaming, wagering, and lottery industries.

The company's authorization in North Carolina comes as the state moves to launch legal online sports betting on March 11. The date falls a day before the ACC men's basketball tournament's starting date on March 12. NCAA tournament play begins March 19.
