Malta Gaming Authority revokes license of BTM Entertainment, owner of Roy Richie casino

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has canceled the license issued to BTM Entertainment Group, the company that operates the casino brand Roy Richie.

“The Malta Gaming Authority has decided to cancel the authorization bearing reference number MGA/B2C/350/2016 issued to BTM Entertainment Group Limited effective as of 22 March 2024. This is being done in accordance with regulation 10 (1) (a) and by application of regulations 9 (1) (c), (d), (f), (l) and (m) of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations (S.L. 583.06),” MGA said in a statement.

The gaming body directed BTM to settle all outstanding fees due to the MGA within seven working days. The casino operator is eligible to appeal against the decision.

The cancellation follows the suspension of BTM Entertainment's license in 2019. The authority didn't disclose the reason for its enforcement actions either back in 2019 or now. BTM Entertainment's gambling brand operated fixed-odds betting and live betting services.

Recently, the MGA also revoked Rush Gaming Ltd's operating license. The reason for the permit's cancellation, which followed initial suspension in January, was also not disclosed by the Malta regulator.
