The Argentine State Lottery Association (ALEA) has elected the president of the Provincial Institute of Gaming and Casinos (IPJyC) of Mendoza, Ida López, as its new President for the period 2024-2025, becoming the first woman to be elected in the association's almost 54 years of history.
The election of Ida López took place within the framework of the 73rd Ordinary Assembly of the Board of Legal Representatives of ALEA, organized together with the Ente Regulador del Juego de Azar (Enreja) of the province of Salta, where the rest of the Board of Directors was also renewed.
"It is an honor to have been elected president of the Association of State-owned Lotteries, Quinielas and Casinos of Argentina. I am grateful for the support of the representatives of all the country's provinces. I am proud to be the first female President since ALEA was created," said López when she took office.
During the meeting, held on May 15, issues included in ALEA's work agenda were discussed, "focused on the concern of all members in regards to the expansion of online gaming in illegal platforms and the damage they cause to minors."
"In this regard, the situation of online gaming in the country was analyzed and it was decided to set up a joint work table with national organisms and to create an observatory of online gaming, to carry out a permanent follow-up of the problem," the Association detailed.
