Stephen Thayer, General Manager and Vice President of The Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower in Las Vegas, has departed from his position. Golden Entertainment, which operates the property located at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, confirmed Thayer's departure, with his last day being June 5.
A spokesperson for Golden Entertainment declined to comment on the specific reasons for his exit when approached by local media. Thayer also did not respond to requests for comment, says the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Thayer had been with Golden Entertainment since October 2019, when he joined from Harrah’s in Atlantic City, a property owned by Caesars Entertainment. His extensive career in the gaming industry includes roles as director, vice president, and general manager at various properties in both Las Vegas and Atlantic City since 2004.
In the interim, Skylar Dice will lead operations at The Strat. Dice has been the vice president and assistant general manager since 2022 and has been with Golden Entertainment since 2015, company officials stated.
It was reported in March, that the casino and some other properties in the gambling mecca didn't realize the expected benefits from the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, but the company anticipates broader advantages in the next iteration. The remarks came as the company announced a revenue drop for the full year 2023.
