Multinational sports betting and gaming company Entain has announced the appointment of Helen Ashton as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Ashton has over 30 years of experience working in public and private equity-backed businesses and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.
As former CFO of ASOS, as well as executive level roles in ASDA, Barclays, and Lloyds Banking Group, Ashton brings broad global business and financial services experience with extensive knowledge of high-growth digital and retail businesses, Entain said.
Ashton is currently a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee of JD Sports Fashion. On appointment, she will also become a member of the Audit Committee.
Barry Gibson, Chairman of Entain, said: "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Helen to Entain. Helen brings a wealth of retail, digital, financial, and board experience.
"As part of the continued strengthening of the Entain Board, I am confident that Helen will further enhance the Board's ability to support and oversee the delivery of our strategy.”
This appointment is the second for Entain in the last few weeks. The company in June announced the appointment of Charlotte Emery as the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for its UK operations.
Emery, who previously held the position of Chief Brand Officer at William Hill, confirmed the news on her LinkedIn profile and has already commenced her role at Entain’s London headquarters.
