Maryland casinos post $162.9 million in June gaming revenue, slightly down from a year ago

Maryland's six casinos reported a total gaming revenue of $162.9 million for June 2024, reflecting a slight decrease of $802,798 (-0.5%) compared to June 2023, according to figures released by Maryland Lottery and Gaming.

Despite the overall revenue decline, the casinos contributed $69.8 million to the state, marking a $412,462 (0.6%) increase from the previous year. Contributions to the Education Trust Fund amounted to $50.4 million, a marginal decrease of $63,342 (-0.1%) compared to June 2023. Additionally, casino revenues support local communities, the horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses in Maryland.

The state's six privately owned casinos include MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County, Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City, Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County, Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County. These casinos offer a mix of slot machines and table games.

The gaming revenue breakdown for June 2024 is as follows:

MGM National Harbor: $68,151,492, a decrease of $891,610 (-1.3%) from June 2023.

Live! Casino & Hotel: $60,399,039, an increase of $2,419,413 (4.2%) from June 2023.

Horseshoe Casino: $14,112,716, a decrease of $1,828,493 (-11.5%) from June 2023.

Ocean Downs Casino: $8,135,862, a decrease of $543,144 (-6.3%) from June 2023.

Hollywood Casino: $7,523,001, an increase of $568,594 (8.2%) from June 2023.

Rocky Gap Casino: $4,592,322, a decrease of $527,559 (-10.3%) from June 2023.

The casinos had generated a total revenue of $169.4 million in May 2024, a decline of 5.2% or $9,366,462 compared to May 2022.
