Northern Cyprus' Merit Casino switches to DRGT's CMS and cashless solution

DR Gaming Technology (DRGT) has announced the installation of its full casino management system (CMS) and cashless solution suite at the Merit Royal Casino in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The installation marks an upgrade for the Merit Royal, Merit Royal Premium, and Merit Royal Diamond hotels, enhancing the gaming experience across their combined 1,200 machines and 80 tables.

"Cyprus is an extremely competitive market with over 30 licensed casinos. As a result, to remain competitive, we need to offer the best possible experience on the island, something I believe we do well," said Nuh Yӧndem, Slots Director of the Merit Group.

"Our casino is part of that offering, and in order to remain the formidable competitor we are, we needed an integrated casino management system that affords us the ability to not only manage our casino floor, but also the tools and functionality to engage and reward our casino players for making us their preferred choice; I believe DRGT now affords us the technology to do that."

The installation at Merit Royal Casino is being conducted in two phases. Phase 1, now complete, focused on upgrading all slots to DRGT’s 8.8” drScreenUltra player tracking interface units and implementing full casino and cash desk management systems, cashless gaming, player loyalty programs, and the drMediaManager technology for customized jackpots, bonus games, and digital signage content.

"With an average of around 3,000 unique visitors per day and between 20,000 and 30,000 unique daily gaming sessions, Merit Royal really puts our technology to the test," said Andreas Duller, DRGT’s Managing Director for Austria, who oversaw the installation. "Our reliability and robustness are key, and we are proud of the system we delivered."

Phase 2 will leverage DRGT’s open solution, which extends beyond traditional casino management to assess and reward customer value across all touchpoints.

The phase 1 installation was undertaken in stages over an agreed 2-week period, with the entire process having been completed just 3 months after the deal was signed.

The Merit Royal installation is one of six Merit casinos on the island, with potential expansion opportunities across the Merit Group's operations in Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Croatia.
