Pay4Fun, a payment solutions provider operating in the betting and online gaming sector, has recently celebrated its sixth anniversary.
To learn more about the company's future plans, Yogonet held an exclusive interview with Leonardo Baptista, Pay4Fun CEO and co-founder, in which he revealed that the provider intends to add payments for casinos and the land-based sector, should legislation approving these verticals pass in Brazil. His remarks come as bill 2.234, which legalizes these activities, is discussed in the Senate.
Pay4Fun celebrated its sixth anniversary in May, coinciding with a key moment for the betting and gambling sector in Brazil, as regulation advances. Can you tell us a bit more about the company's journey thus far and its plans for the future?
When we started, our mission was to provide a secure and effective payment service for the online gaming market, at a point in which Brazilian operators were facing many obstacles when it came to deposits for the prizes they awarded.
My partners and I decided to create Pay4Fun as a transparent, Brazilian-based company, formed by an experienced team capable of guiding clients through all processes. This approach helped operators and players trust in our leadership and commitment to payment security.
From the onset, we prioritized the financial security of transactions, adhering to strict international standards in due diligence and self-regulation. This commitment allowed us to earn authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil in record time, consolidating our reputation and reliability.
Today, Pay4Fun is recognized as a key player in the market, with an ever-growing trajectory. Our future is bright, with plans to expand our services to other countries and diversify our product portfolio.
We are focused on establishing new partnerships, investing in technology, and strengthening our leadership position both in Brazil and internationally. We hope to keep growing our impact in the sector.
Pay4Fun has recently launched its first digital account. What are the main advantages that this new account offers in comparison to the wallet that the company previously provided?
In simple terms, this new account introduces several new benefits when compared to our previous product. The digital account offers new functionalities, allowing not only deposits and transfers but also the reception of rewards and payments through Pix (an instant payment platform managed by the Central Bank of Brazil), transfers to other account holders, and payments via QR codes.
This makes transactions easier and faster. Moreover, our solution benefits the unbanked, as it offers access through prepaid credits. The account has been specifically designed for the online betting sector, providing a seamless, secure and fast experience, always in line with current regulations.
In Brazil, the last few months have been marked by the publication of new ordinances related to gambling, including one impacting payment methods. How has Pay4Fun adapted to this evolving landscape?
Given we are already authorized by the Central Bank, we adhere to the provisions of the ordinance, which allows us to operate without having to adapt our business.
The Senate is currently debating the legalization of casinos and other forms of gambling. Do you foresee Pay4Fun working on a payment solution for casinos and other land-based games in the future? Or is it too soon to make such plans?
We are closely following the Senate debates on casinos and other verticals. We already have a solid solution to address the needs of this market, based on our extensive experience and knowledge of the iGaming sector.
We are ready to expand our operations and offer secure and effective payment solutions for casinos and other land-based games as soon as the legislation is approved. We believe this would be a natural next step for Pay4Fun, further consolidating its leadership position in the payment segment of the gambling industry.
