Maryland’s six casinos generated a total of $169.8 million in gaming revenue in July, marking a decrease of $4,501,777 or 2.6% from the same month last year, when revenue stood at $174.3 million.

The casinos' contributions to the state amounted to $72.2 million last month, a decrease of $1 million or 1.4% compared to July 2023. These funds are critical for various state programs, including the Education Trust Fund, which received $52 million in July 2024, down by $723,245 or 1.4% from July last year.

Casino revenues also support local communities, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses, as highlighted by the state's regulator. Maryland’s six privately owned casinos offer both slot machines and table games.

Revenue breakdown by casino:

  • MGM National Harbor: Revenue of $72 million, a decrease of $168,366 (-0.2%) from July 2023.
  • Live! Casino & Hotel: Revenue of $62.6 million, a decrease of $181,196 (-0.3%) from July 2023.
