Play’n GO launches Scourge of Rome slot, inspired by Hannibal's Alpine campaign

iGaming content provider Play’n GO has launched its latest slot release, Scourge of Rome. The title heads back to 218 BC to witness one of history’s greatest military campaigns and the near-decimation of the Roman Empire, the company said of its theme.

Hannibal Barca is one of history’s most notable generals. Known for giving the Roman Empire a run for their money, this military mastermind claimed a permanent seat in the annals of history. One of his most notable military campaigns involved the traversal of the Alpine Mountain range with an entire army, including massive war elephants, to attack Northern Italy, the company added in a press release. 

In Scourge of Rome, players will spin the 6x4 reels to create winning combinations of symbols. During the base game, players will also get to unleash Hannibal’s tactical prowess in the form of some bonus features.

Scourge of Rome also brings the advent of the FLIP WILDS and ABYSSWAYS features. During the base game, should players land two or more Wild Symbols on the reels, the FLIP WILDS feature will trigger which gives a 50/50 chance of upgrading each Wild Symbol into a full reel Wild. 

The company stated that fans of other historic military titles such as Undefeated Xerxes (2024) and Legion Gold Unleashed (2024) are sure to "resonate" with this latest release. With aesthetics such as the icy Alps along with the military-themed symbols such as swords and spears, "Scourge of Rome is a truly immersive slot experience," said the supplier.
