BetMGM, the sports wagering arm of MGM Resorts International, has rolled out a feature allowing seamless betting across 29 states with a single digital wallet, marking a major step in the evolution of the brand.

The newly enhanced BetMGM app will now enable players to wager across all MGM-licensed states, as long as they are registered in the respective jurisdiction. This capability, described as a first in the industry, means that, for example, players who sign up in Nevada can cross into neighboring Arizona and place bets from their existing accounts, following registration in that state.

“No other digital wagering app has that capability,” said Matt Prevost, Chief Revenue Officer of BetMGM, in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He noted that while players must still complete an in-person sign-up process in Nevada, the new feature offers seamless integration for those traveling between states.

BetMGM’s digital sports wagering platform is now operational in 29 North American markets, including major states such as Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey, and additional jurisdictions like Puerto Rico and Ontario, Canada. The app is backed by MGM’s partnership with UK-based Entain Plc.

Throughout its history, BetMGM has introduced a slate of "firsts" for the sports betting market. BetMGM opened the first betting windows at sports stadiums in 2022, with partnerships with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium and MLB’s Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Earlier this year, BetMGM redesigned its mobile sports betting app, introducing features like Angstrom-enabled prop and parlay offerings, and digital deposits and withdrawals. Industry analysts at Eilers & Krejcik praised the app, calling it “clearly the best product in Nevada right now.” More enhancements are expected ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

Prevost expressed optimism about the potential economic impact of the feature, stating: “I think it may actually be a benefit to the state of Nevada in the form of incremental revenue and incremental taxes.”

New customers in Nevada can download the BetMGM app and receive a first bet offer of up to $250 in bonus bets, which expire in seven days. Existing users can take advantage of promotions such as parlay-boost tokens and odds boosts. Players can also earn BetMGM Rewards points, redeemable for digital bonuses and MGM Rewards points.

Prevost confirmed that BetMGM completed the single-wallet integration in all other jurisdictions last summer, leaving Nevada as the final state to receive regulatory approval for the feature.
