Sri Lanka will host the first edition of the SiGMA South Asia summit from November 30 to December 2, 2025, in Colombo, marking a significant milestone for the region's burgeoning gaming industry. The event is expected to draw over 5,000 delegates and position Sri Lanka as a key player in the global gaming market.

South Asia, home to more than 25% of the world’s population, is a rapidly expanding market for digital gaming. With internet penetration and mobile gaming on the rise, industry reports project that the region’s gaming sector could surpass $7.5 billion by 2028. India, the region's largest market, saw its gaming sector grow to $3.1 billion by 2023, and with 239.63 million expected mobile gaming users by 2027, its market dominance is set to continue.

Pakistan, too, is seeing robust growth, with its gaming industry forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 6.4% and reach $0.51 billion by 2026. The country is home to 257 game development companies and 300 gaming studios, with PwC predicting a 21.9% expansion of the video and mobile gaming market.

Sri Lanka's gaming landscape is also evolving, with the country set to open its first integrated resort in 2025, coinciding with the SiGMA South Asia summit. Groundbreaking draft legislation aimed at regulating the market is expected to further propel the country into the global gaming spotlight.

SiGMA South Asia 2025 will bring together over 150 industry leaders, including government officials, regulators, and key players from the gaming sector. The event will feature more than 800 affiliates and an expo floor showcasing the region’s top companies, offering a premier networking experience.

With Colombo’s strategic position as a financial hub and its $500 million Colombo International Financial Centre (CIFC) project, Sri Lanka is poised to become a major business and gaming destination. Delegates at SiGMA South Asia can also participate in a gala awards ceremony, charity auction, and exclusive dinners aimed at strengthening business ties.

The summit is well aligned with the Affiliate World event in Bangkok starting on December 4, allowing participants to maximize their South Asian experience by attending both events within the same week.
