AGEM names Daron Dorsey president and CEO in organizational update

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) has announced a series of changes in its structure and operations, including the designation of a President & Chief Executive Officer and an elected Board of Directors.

"This more traditional structure will better serve the interests of AGEM and its members within the global gaming supplier sector and fully align the terms of the leadership team with the organization’s financial year," the association said in a statement. 

AGEM will continue to be led by Daron Dorsey, who now, as President & Chief Executive Officer, will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of AGEM operations, affairs, initiatives, and professionals.  

In this new role, Dorsey will continue to collaborate and work in conjunction with AGEM’s elected Chair and Board of Directors for the interests of the AGEM membership while maintaining a governance and oversight structure like many of its members and similar trade organizations.  

Similarly, Bob Parente will now complete his current term of service as Chair of the AGEM Board of Directors and work with the Board of Directors to continue governance oversight of AGEM plans and priorities.

Parente, who also serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer for Light & Wonder, said: “We believe this structure will serve AGEM members and the supplier sector well. Daron was brought in to help build upon the AGEM foundation and pursue new initiatives to advocate for our supplier industry interests in various forums.  

"His prior background and executive experience will be important as we embark on this natural progression for AGEM as the trade association for the global gaming supplier community.”  

In addition, Parente noted that AGEM is developing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to expand its Board composition "to maximize the best Gaming industry talent."
 
In addition to the above update, the AGEM Board of Directors outlined below is set to continue serving current terms that will conclude on March 31, 2025:
