SPiCE Philippines to highlight Southeast Asia's gaming market growth this week

The SPiCE Philippines expo kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday), set to connect industry leaders across the Southeast Asia gaming market in its third annual edition.

The exhibition will highlight the latest advancements and trends shaping the gaming industry across Southeast Asia. The show comes as the market experiences substantial growth, driven by increased accessibility to online gaming platforms and the expansion of physical casino resorts.

The market is projected to reach approximately $7.18 billion by 2024, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.0% during the forecast period. This growth is fueled by the region’s changing regulatory landscape, noted SPiCE Philippines organizers.

Meanwhile, the broader Asia-Pacific online gaming market is expected to exceed $50 billion by 2026, supported by the rise of mobile and internet technologies, including the rollout of 5G networks. These advancements are making gaming more accessible, especially through mobile apps, which account for a significant portion of the market’s revenue.

Moreover, Southeast Asia’s gaming sector also benefits from a growing number of casino resorts, particularly in the Philippines and Vietnam, which cater not only to locals but also attract international tourists. The increasing development of integrated resorts and the potential legalisation of casinos in other nations, like Thailand, are further boosting the region’s appeal as a gaming destination.
