On Tuesday 8 October, the city of Digne-les-Bains announced the name of the party selected to design, build and operate the city's future entertainment centre. Led by Golden Palace Group, the new casino promises to be "unique in every way and blend harmoniously into the natural landscape".

The project is set to feature a gaming hall, restaurant, bar, cultural events and entertainment venueScheduled to open in May 2027, the casino will create 30 direct jobs, contributing to the local economy and its development.

Golden Palace Group was awarded the public services outsourcing contract for an 18-year period, including both the project development and construction phases. The group's bid was selected based on the quality of its economic, environmental, social, and cultural elements.

The new casino in Digne-les-Bains, which still has some administrative hurdles to overcome, aims to be both "spectacular" while respecting the natural and urban balance of the town. Nestled in the surroundings of the thermal spa, the casino will showcase architecture that addresses the region's environmental and economic challenges.

In addition to the gaming hall, it will feature a restaurant, bar, relaxation areas—including an outdoor stage—and spaces designed to host cultural events and performances for audiences of all ages.

"We believe in the concept of popular entertainment. This casino was created with the region, for tourists, but especially for the residents of Digne-les-Bains in mind. We are convinced that we can create a recreational, respectful and responsible place that everyone can make their own," explains Massimo Menegalli, president of the Golden Palace Group, which this summer also acquired the concession for the new Thonon-lesBains casino in Haute-Savoie.

For the municipality, which has been working on bringing this project to life for several years, the public services outsourcing contract is expected to generate €18 million ($19.5 million) in direct financial revenue, create 30 jobs, and provide a new attraction for both residents and visitors to Digne-les-Bains. The city hopes to open its new landmark in 2027.
