Full House Resorts has announced a new location for its proposed New Haven Casino and Resort, shifting the project to a 90-acre site adjacent to the I-469 and U.S. 30 interchange, west of Doyle Road. This decision follows feedback from local officials and residents regarding the initial site, which was planned for the corner of Doyle and Harper Roads.
Spokesperson Zack Sand said: “Full House Resorts is dedicated to being a good neighbor in the communities we operate in. We listened carefully to the concerns of residents near our initial site and have secured a more suitable location that meets the community’s comprehensive development plan. This new site provides an ideal location for the New Haven Casino and Resort that respects the interest of all stakeholders.”
The proposed casino project is estimated to cost around $500 million and is projected to generate around $75 million in annual gaming taxes. Furthermore, it is expected to have a $50 million economic impact on the local community, which New Haven Mayor Steve McMichael believes is crucial.
“This masterplan with a multi-sport fieldhouse and new much-needed residential opportunities is needed to maximize the City’s economic opportunities with an anticipated $50 million economic impact,” McMichael said.
Full House Resorts plans to implement the project in two phases. Phase I will focus on the construction of the casino, while Phase II will include a hotel and live event center.
To proceed with the project, Full House Resorts must transfer its gaming license from Ohio County to Allen County, a process that requires legislation from the Indiana General Assembly early next year.
As plans develop, design proposals for the casino are expected to be released soon, continuing the dialogue between the company and the community.
