Robert Abela, Prime Minister of Malta, visited the SiGMA Europe event being held this week at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub (MMH). Abela was welcomed by event organizers, including SiGMA Group founder Eman Pulis, CEO Emily Micallef, and CFO Clive Terribile.

The event is currently underway, running from November 11 (Monday) to November 14 (Thursday). Abela's SiGMA Europe visit underscores Malta’s active role in the iGaming and digital technology sectors and reflects his administration's interest in supporting the industry as part of Malta's economy, said the show's organizers.

During his tour, Abela visited a range of booths representing significant players in the iGaming industry. He paused to speak with a number of exhibitors, including Chilli Partners, 22Bet, Pin-Up Global, Altenar, and EveryMatrix, where he met with representatives to discuss their offerings and activities in Malta.

Abela also visited Aviatrix and Smartsoft. His tour continued with stops at Digitain, Alea, Amusnet, EGT Digital, and iGaming Academy, where he learned more about their programs and recent educational developments in iGaming training. The Prime Minister then headed to Wicked Games, The Kingdom Bank, BETC, Soft2Bet, Payment Center, and BC Games.

In his address to the Parliament of Malta last week, Prime Minister Abela highlighted the critical role of SiGMA, describing it as a strategic driver for Malta’s position in digital and tech innovation.

He commended SiGMA’s contribution to diversifying Malta’s tourism industry by drawing high-value visitors and investors, "reinforcing the island’s standing as a European hub for digital sectors."

In other recent news, SiGMA revealed this week that its flagship European event SiGMA Central Europe will be held in Milan for the first time in 2025. The event will take place at the Fiera Milano exhibition center from November 23 - 26, 2025, and is expected to attract a record-breaking 30,000 delegates, making it the largest SiGMA event to date.
